Common Batteries Can Be Damaged In Two Situations

2022-09-16

   Low-Temperature Damage

When the room temperature is 25 degrees Celsius, the capacity of the lead-acid battery is what we think is the conventional capacity. Many experiments show that: in this case, the capacity of the battery will increase by 0.8% for every degree Celsius increase in the ambient temperature where the vehicle is located. However, if the ambient temperature decreases by one degree Celsius, the capacity of the battery decreases by 0.8%. From this point of view, the low-temperature environment will cause damage to the car battery.

    Over Discharge

The lead-acid batteries used in most cars are generally shallow-charged and shallow-discharged, and excessive discharge can easily cause battery damage. A number of data show that if the battery is completely discharged and recharged, it can only be charged to 80% of the original capacity. The active substances of "lead sulfate" and "lead sulfate" change and are irreversible. This process is called vulcanization of the battery. After vulcanization, the active substance of the battery decreases sharply, which will reduce the battery capacity.
