Storage Methods Of Batteries Under Different Conditions

2022-05-20

Batteries are mainly divided into three categories: lead-acid batteries, dry-charge batteries and maintenance-free batteries. The batteries used in passenger cars that are more familiar in life are basically two types of lead-acid batteries and maintenance-free batteries. Batteries can do this when purchased and stored.

The wet storage method can be used for short-term storage of batteries, that is, fully charge the battery first, then adjust the electrolyte density to 1.24~1.28g/cm3, adjust the liquid level to the specified height, and then seal the vent holes. The storage period should not exceed half a year. Regular inspection, if the capacity is reduced by 25%, it should be recharged immediately, and it should also be fully charged before delivery.

The storage of batteries that have been out of use for a long time adopts the dry storage method, that is, the fully charged batteries are first discharged at a discharge rate of 20h, then the electrolyte is poured out, rinsed repeatedly with distilled water, until the water is free of acidity. Tighten the liquid hole cap and seal the vent hole. The storage conditions are the same as the new battery.
