ABOUT THE REPAIR PROCESS OF MAINTENANCE-FREE BATTERIES
Although the maintenance-free battery has a "maintenance-free" in its name, it does not mean that it does not need maintenance. When the maintenance-free battery is not damaged, bulged, and has no signs of short circuit or open circuit, we can take some methods to repair the battery.
1. Use positive and negative pulses to depolarize and charge the battery, and then fully discharge it. This cycle is repeated three times. If the capacity shows signs of recovery, it can be cycled several times to achieve a better repair effect.
2. Add water to repair, add water must add deionized water or pure water, do not add tap water, it will cause the problem of self-discharge of the battery. Then use a matching charger to fully charge it, which generally has a certain effect on capacity restoration. You can perform two or three more charge-discharge cycles, which will be more effective. Here are some suggestions on how to add water to your battery for your repair purposes.
The first step is to open the battery cover and remove the 6 safety caps.
The second step is to use a syringe to fill each hole with distilled water. If a standard electrolyte is added, the electrode plate may burn out due to excessive acid solubility. For example, when we eat hot pot, why do we eat more and more salty, that is to say when the water evaporates, the salt will not evaporate through the water vapor, for the same reason, the acid in the battery will not be evaporated, missing It is water, so we only need to add about 20-30ml of distilled water to each small hole.
After filling up, let the battery stand still for half an hour so that the sponge around the plate can fully absorb the water. Then use the resistor to discharge, and discharge all the electricity in the battery. If there is no resistance, you can replace it with a 12v light bulb, such as motorcycle headlights and car turn signals, as long as it can discharge to 0v. . How to judge that the battery is about to run out of electricity, the resistance body of the cement resistor is hot at the beginning of discharge, and gradually becomes less hot, and then the battery runs out of electricity. If the light bulb is used, it should be direct. As long as the light slowly disappears, it means that the discharge of the battery is over. The discharge time depends on the capacity of the battery when it is discharged. We can first ride the battery until it is dead before maintenance. This can shorten the discharge time.
After the discharge is completed, the battery is charged, and the pulse charging method can be used if conditions permit, because the pulse charging method can effectively remove the vulcanization of the electrode plate and improve the capacity of the battery. If you don't have it, you can also use a car charger instead.
After charging is complete, use a syringe to remove excess water from each hole. A total of 6 holes, were completed step by step. Finally, put the cap and cover on, and it can be loaded into the car.
